Master of Artificial Intelligence

The Master of AI Dual Qualifications program consists of 6 modules and a Master’s Capstone Projects, totaling 180 UK credits, lasting a minimum of 1.5 years.

Mandatory modules:

• Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (20 UK Credits)
• Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability (20 UK Credits)
• Ethics, Fairness and Explanation in Artificial Intelligence (20 UK Credits)
• Deep Learning (20 UK Credits)
• Intelligent Agents (20 UK Credits)
• Research Methods (20 UK Credits)

After each module, learners will take an ending exam. The end-of-module exams are application-oriented essays to help learners review knowledge, apply knowledge in the workplace, and improve the practical environment.

Master’s Capstone Projects Stage (60 UK credits):

• Dissertation/ Capstone Projects/ Work-based Project
• Defend Dissertation/ Capstone Projects/ Work-based Project

Equipment requirements

This qualification is designed to provide learners with a deep understanding of Artificial Intelligence, coding, and building apps.

Therefore, learners must have suitable equipment and software that is capable of:

• Running a "proof of concept" deep neural network inference.
• Running one of the following cloud-based solutions seamlessly:
  • Google Colab
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Graduating from the Master of AI Dual Qualifications program, the learner could:

• AI Methodologies and Practices
  Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of contemporary Artificial Intelligence (AI) methodologies, practices, and evolving technologies. Apply both theoretical and practical knowledge of AI systems across various domains.
• Foundational Concepts and Advanced Topics
  Gain comprehensive insights into foundational AI concepts, including classical symbolic and statistical methods, deep learning, neural networks, and intelligent agents. Understand and evaluate AI’s ethical considerations, fairness, and its role in sustainable development.
• Integration of AI in Achieving Sustainability Goals
  Analyze the impact of AI on different sectors and its integration in achieving sustainability goals. Develop the ability to address real-world challenges using AI-driven solutions.
• Core Aspects and Advanced AI Applications
  Master essential aspects of AI through mandatory units that cover core topics, such as AI introduction, deep learning, intelligent agent development, and ethical considerations in AI. Apply these skills to modern problem-solving scenarios.
• Ethical and Societal Implications of AI
  Foster an awareness of AI's ethical implications and societal impact. Reflect on and apply ethical frameworks when developing or implementing AI solutions.
• AI Research and Development Skills
  Demonstrate the ability to engage in discussions, conduct research, and contribute to the development and implementation of AI systems. Show proficiency in applying advanced AI knowledge to research and project-based tasks.
• Career Readiness in AI-Related Roles
  Possess the competencies required for professional roles in AI research, development, and implementation across various sectors, including technology, healthcare, finance, sustainability, and public policy. Continue advancing expertise through further studies or specialized fields.

In addition to the entry requirements, candidates applying to the program are also assessed for their suitability by the admissions committee before joining the program to ensure that they can acquire and benefit from the program.

Entry requirements:

To enroll the Master of Sciences in AI Dual Qualifications program, the learner must possess one of the criteria below:

English requirements:

If a learner is not from a predominantly English-speaking country, proof of English language proficiency must be provided.

• Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level B2 or equivalent
• Or A minimum TOEFL score of 101 or IELTS 6.5; Reading and Writing must be at 6.5 or equivalent
